The company

A Zambian tooling and industrial services company

Trackcor specialises in torque application, service, repair, calibration and training across hydraulic, electric, manual and pneumatic fastening, for mining and heavy industry.

Trackcor started where most of Zambian mining support starts: supplying and fixing tools. What changed is the scope of the question we are asked. Operations no longer want a supplier who can repair a wrench. They want somebody to take responsibility for whether the right tool is available, accurate and accounted for when a crew needs it.

So the company runs on both levels. The established business supplies, services, repairs and calibrates tooling, on site and in the workshop. The newer one is managed tooling: running a client’s whole tooling function against an agreed service level, on our own tracking platform, with a monthly report rather than an annual surprise.

The thread through all of it is that the work happens here. Calibration and load testing are carried out inside Zambia rather than crated to South Africa, which is the difference between a calibration interval an operation can keep and one it quietly lets slip.

Vision

To become the preferred tooling supplier, service and repair centre, calibration and training specialist in Africa.

Mission

To offer a competitive new and after-market business which upholds honesty, transparency and expert levels of workmanship.

Trackcor Tools

The managed service runs on software we built ourselves. Trackcor Tools tracks every asset through issue and return, records custody in the field as it happens, holds calibration and servicing status per tool, and produces the monthly report from the record rather than from memory.

It is not sold separately. It is how the service is delivered, and it is why a Trackcor report is a statement of fact about your fleet rather than an estimate. More on managed tooling.
