Kitwe, Copperbelt Province
Kitwe is the commercial centre of the Copperbelt and sits on the Nkana orebody, with the mine, the smelter and refinery complex and a large surrounding engineering and fabrication industry. More heavy engineering workshops, fabricators and mining contractors operate out of Kitwe than anywhere else in the country.
On the Copperbelt, at the centre of the service area.
Not only mines
Kitwe’s tooling demand is as much industrial as it is mining. Fabrication shops, plant hire businesses, heavy engineering firms and the contracting companies that service the mines all run torque and hydraulic tooling, and all of them get asked for calibration certificates the moment they work on a mine site.
That is a different kind of customer from a mine: smaller fleets, tighter budgets, and a need for certificates that will satisfy somebody else’s auditor. The service is the same; the packaging is not.

Common questions
Do you work with engineering firms as well as mines?
Yes. Fabricators, plant hire businesses and contractors make up a large share of the Kitwe workload, usually because a mine has asked them to evidence that their torque tooling is in calibration.
Can small fleets be calibrated economically?
Yes. A small fleet does not need a contract; it needs a cycle it can afford and certificates that stand up. That is a normal piece of work, not an exception.
