Kolwezi, Lualaba, DRC
Kolwezi, in Lualaba, is the centre of the western Congolese copperbelt and one of the densest concentrations of copper and cobalt mining and processing anywhere. The scale of hydrometallurgical and concentrator plant in the district means a very large amount of bolted process infrastructure and continuous heavy maintenance.
Served from the Zambian Copperbelt via the Kasumbalesa corridor.
Process plant, continuously
Hydrometallurgical plant is bolted, corrosive and never really stops. Tanks, pumps, piping, agitators and filter plant all carry torque specifications, and the tooling that maintains them works in an environment that degrades it quickly.
What an operation like that needs from a tooling partner is less about heroics and more about rhythm: tools certified on a cycle that is short enough for the environment, repairs turned around predictably, and lifting equipment that has been load tested rather than assumed.
Services available to Kolwezi operations

- Hydraulic tool, cylinder, jack and pump overhaul with load testing
- Supply and support of Edmo lifting equipment, Enerpac and other brands
- Planned, batched cross-border logistics
- Operator training on process plant bolting
Common questions
Is Kolwezi too far to serve from Zambia?
It is further than Lubumbashi, but it is still considerably closer to the Zambian Copperbelt than to the South African workshops most operations have historically used. Work is planned and batched accordingly.
