Norbar in Zambia

Torque wrenches, multipliers and torque measurement equipment, supplied and serviced without the tools leaving the country.

Trackcor’s standing

Supplier, and service and repair centre

Norbar equipment turns up across Zambian mining wherever torque has to be both applied and proved, and it is common to find the wrench and the instrument that checks it from the same maker. That is convenient until neither has been calibrated for three years, at which point the two agree with each other and with nothing else.

What Trackcor does with Norbar equipment

  • Supply across the torque wrench, multiplier and measurement ranges
  • Repair and mechanism overhaul, including spring and scale work on manual wrenches
  • Calibration with as-found and as-left data at multiple test points
  • Multiplier gear train inspection, bearing replacement and ratio verification
  • Inclusion in service contracts and managed tooling programmes

Multipliers are not simply big wrenches

A torque multiplier multiplies the error in the input as faithfully as it multiplies the torque, and its stated ratio is a nominal figure that gearbox wear moves. A multiplier that has not been checked against a transducer is an assumption, not a measurement, and it is usually being used on the largest and most consequential fasteners on the site.

Norbar lines we handle

  • Click, dial and electronic torque wrenches
  • Handtorque and Pneutorque torque multipliers
  • Torque transducers and measurement instruments
  • Pneumatic and electric torque tools
  • Torque calibration equipment

Common questions

Can Norbar torque wrenches be calibrated in Zambia?

Yes. Trackcor calibrates manual, pneumatic and electric Norbar tooling in country, on site or in the workshop, with as-found and as-left readings on the certificate.

Do torque multipliers need calibrating?

Yes, and arguably more urgently than the wrenches driving them, because gearbox wear moves the real ratio away from the nominal one and the error is multiplied along with the torque.
