Trackcor’s standing
Supplier, with service and repair carried out in the Trackcor workshop
Cordless tooling has taken over a great deal of mine site work that used to be pneumatic, and it has brought a new failure mode with it: the battery platform.
Standardise the battery, not just the tool
A site running three cordless brands is running three battery platforms, three sets of chargers and three spares holdings, and crews will still be short of a charged battery at three in the morning. Standardising the platform is usually worth more than any individual tool choice, and it is a decision best taken before the fleet grows rather than after.
Cordless impact wrenches are not torque tools
A cordless impact wrench is excellent at removing fasteners and at running them down. It is not a controlled-torque device, and the final torque on any joint with a specification has to come from a tool that can be calibrated. This is one of the most common findings on a mine site audit and one of the easiest to fix through training.

Common questions
Can a cordless impact wrench be calibrated?
Not meaningfully as a torque-controlled tool. It is a removal and run-down tool. Final torque on a specified joint should come from a calibrated torque wrench or a controlled-torque assembly tool.
Do you service Milwaukee tools locally?
Yes, in the Trackcor workshop, alongside the rest of the electric and battery tooling that comes through.
